Patricia Guerrero

Catedral

Mon 8 Jan 2018 | 21:00 | Petrassi hall
The new flamenco star, Patricia Guerrero, presents her latest show at the Auditorium Parco della Musica that won at the Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla 2016, "Catedral". In a set that looks like a church, the bailaora tackles the debate between faith, guilt, oppression and relief, and is guided by two different ‘voices’: live flamenco music and the litany of two lyric singers.

The flamenco wonder, Patricia Guerrero, already performed at eight years old. In her 15, she won the Flamenco City Art Contest in Ubrique and the prestigious El Desplante at the International Festival in Cante de las Minas when she was 17.
Just turned 20, the director Carlos Saura wanted her as the solo dancer for the Flamenco Hoy, a touring show that took her all around the world, also to New York at the City Center stage. Then Saura called her to shoot his movie Flamenco Flamenco, where Patricia Guerrero performs the guajira along with Arcángel and the dancers and choreographers Rafael Estévez and Valeriano Paños.
Today Patricia Guerrero is the leading flamenco dancer of her generation who boasts a palmarès of two Girandillo awards and the flamenco excellence award.
