Uncertain Times

Sun 22 Jul | 21:00 | Cavea

The King Crimson, the band that made progressive rock history and during its career has influenced and inspired a lot of contemporary artists from different music styles creating a sort of a cult around its name, is back to Italy. With three drummers, Pat Mastelotto, Gavin Harrison and Jeremy Stacey, and the return of the multi-instrumentalist Bill Rieflin on the keyboards, Robert Fripp, guitar player and original founder, says that this “double quartet team” will probably make more noise than ever. To complete the eight-element line-up, there are the guitar player and vocalist Jakszyk, the drummer and long-lived member Tony Levin, and the saxophone player and flautist Mel Collins, who was the pillar of the King Crimson from 1970-1972. This three-hour-long show presents songs from all the different phases of the band, including six historical tracks that the Crimson has never played live before, arrangements of some of their greatest hits – “the music is new whenever you write it” -, and obviously, a powerful energy of new songs, including the compositions for the three drummers that are considered one of the band specialty.
