Funk Staden is a sound installation on the contemporary phenomenon of Funk Carioca in Rio de Janeiro favelas, composed of a three-channel video installation, four large pictures and a video projection. Throughout the centuries when Funkeros dance in the favelas today and the rituals of Tupinambà people from the 16th century mix together. Artists call for a reflection on the tropical exotic myth of the European collective imagination.
One Space/One Sound is a recurring exhibition project on sound art conceived by the Fondazione Musica per Roma in the AuditoriumArte area. The project focus is the installation that have sound as their core related to space and the visual image, crossing somehow the traditional, and yet outdated, separation among different art disciplines. The common element of this sound art is just the intimate relation among sound, visual experience and the architectural/spatial perception.
